Poleo (Lipppia stoechadifolia)
 
Esta planta crecía silvestre en todo Puerto Rico peroesto ha mermado, igual que el de muchas otras plantas, por desconocimiento y por el uso sin control de yerbicidas de parte de nuestro propio gobierno y de la gente sin conciencia, quizás por ignorancia.
​El poleo utilizado en baños desintoxica la piel, limpiándola de impurezas. Sus hojas y flores son un insecticida natural. Se cortan varias ramas, se atan juntas y se ponen por las esquinas de las casas para ahuyentar los insectos. También, sus flores y hojas en té son un excelente calmante intestinal y ataca el catarro. 
 
NOTA: Las mujeres embarazadas no deben consumir poleo.
 
​ A esta planta le gusta el sol y se adapta a cualquier clima de Puerto Rico. Tiende a recoger el hongo blanco y otros insectos, evitando que lleguen al resto de su jardín o huerto, haciendo el trabajo de control de plagas.

This plant grew wild throughout Puerto Rico but Its growth has been reduced, like that of many other plants, due to ignorance and the uncontrolled use of herbicides by our own government and people without conscience, perhaps due to ignorance. The poleo used in baths detoxifies the skin, cleaning it of impurities. Its leaves and flowers are a natural insecticide. Various branches are cut, tied together and placed around the corners of houses to keep away insects. Also, its flowers and leaves in tea are an excellent intestinal soothing and attacks colds.
NOTE: Pregnant women should not consume this plant.
This plant likes the sun and adapts to any climate in Puerto Rico. It tends to pick up white fungus and other insects, preventing them from reaching the rest of your garden or orchard, doing the job of pest control. ​
